National level Fire & Evacuation Drill was conducted on 21 January 2020 at 11:00 am to create Fire Safety awareness amongst staff and students.
Regarding the fire safety measures, 10 committees were created in the school involving all the staff members, Principal. School Management along with Peons and Helpers.
Signs of ‘Exit’, ‘Enter’, ‘Assembly point’ were displayed and children were brought down at ‘Assembly point’ soon after the continuous long alarm bell rang. It took two minutes to evacuate all the classes.
Teachers and council members were given duties at appropriate positions during evacuation drill. The fire brigade, ambulance and the police were simultaneously informed. The vehicles and the authorities immediately arrived. 3 students were rescued from their respective classes by ‘Search and Rescue Team’ and taken to the hospital in ambulance.
The firemen used the hose pipes to demonstrate how the fire is put off with the help of these pipes.
The Fire Safety team and the council members were then trained by fire-men. They demonstrated the use of fire- extinguishers to put off the fire. The Chief Fire Officer, Mr. J.P.Singh & Fire Station Officer Mr. Sanjeev Kumar Yadav, addressed the school in which he highlighted the importance of the drill and the safety measures to be taken by the students in case of a disaster.
The entire drill was covered by the media. Photography & Videography was also done by the school & District authorities. The drill was a great success; the authorities appreciated the discipline and cooperation of the management, staff and students.
It was an eye- opener to the students and a beneficial awareness programme.
