Swachhta Pakhwada
Month of September 2019 started with Swachhta Pakhwada Mission related to Swachha Bharat Abhiyan started by our Prime Minster Mr. Narendra Modi, being inspired by the ‘Father of Nation’ Gandhi Ji. Swachhta Pakhwada Mission went on for fifteen days. The entire school actively participated with various activities from different classes. Swachhta Shapath Day was held on 2 September. During the school assembly, whole school took oath to take initiatives to keep our environment clean and green. The second step to mission was Swachhta Awareness Day, which was conducted on 3 September with speech and motivating ideas by the students and the teachers for keeping the environment clean. On 4 September, a rally was organised with slogans and placards creating awareness for cleanliness by the students of Class VII and VIII under the supervision of a few teachers starting from the school through Lalla Babu square and back to school. Green School Drive was held on 6 September, under which the students were informed about the looms of green environment. Watering of plants was done by the students of various classes. Also, information about Blue, Green and Red Dustbins was shared with students. They were also informed about biodegradable and non-biodegradable products. It followed by Hand Wash Day on 8 and 9 September when the students were guided by the experts how to wash their hands properly. Swachhta Hi Sewa was held on 11 September. And last but not the least, Letter Writing Day was conducted on 14 and 15 September, in which a majority of students took part in favour of this drive. This fortnight celebration imbibed the importance of cleanliness among the students who have became volunteer to keep their school and surrounding clean, pollution free and safe.
Heritage Quiz
Nirmala Convent School has got three students registered for CBSE Heritage India Quiz 2019 as a team for the Online Test, which is a Quiz Competition. It is to be conducted in the month of October. The names of the registered students and their class are- Aditya Gurha from Class-X, Animesh from Class-IX and Makindra Singh Rajore from Class-IX. The theme of the Quiz is ‘Water- Our Heritage’, which includes 25% questions on the life and Political Journey of Mahatma Gandhi.
Sports Activities and Games (Inter School Competitions 2019-20)
The school organises Athletics, Tug of War, Cricket, General Mass P.T., Aerobics and Sewa for Class I-IV. And for Class V-X, events like; Athletics, Tug of War and major games like; Cricket, Basketball, Kho-Kho, Table Tennis, Volleyball, Yoga and Sewa are organised. Also, the4th NCS Inter School Basketball Tournament was held in the school, and the 5th will be held in the month of November 2019. The school has also participated in different ‘CBSE Game Cluster’ 2019-20, in the events-Volleyball, Chess, Table Tennis, Basketball and Badminton. Besides this, different Sports Intramural Tournament and Yoga have also been conducted in the school.
