Today, Nirmala convent school celebrated Universal Solidarity Movement. The original idea of the Universal Solidarity Movement of Value Education for Peace conceived in the context of Taize in India, with the untiring efforts of Fr. Varghese Alengaden to give a pro-active response to the traumatized atmosphere that existed in our country after the demolition of the Babri Masjid in Ayodhya in 1992. This Movement with its broad, inclusive and lasting vision of building a civilization of love in a world of hatred and violence promotes a pluralistic spirituality focusing on acceptance, appreciation and promotion of diversity in all its dimensions. Its core principle ‘transform the world by self transformation’ is achieved through following the ‘Five Paths’ resulting in reducing the distance between what we speak and what we do.
